cartier rezidential bratieni arges From the buildings of the Bratianu establishment, which are placed on the Florica domain –Arges, and nationalized with force in June 1948, are still in place only the buildings of the Florica Zootechny research facility ( which today is called “the research and production facility Viti-Vinicola”), the whine and the electric plant buildings, as well as the building from Gradinari, near the church. To complete the architectural group, those are accompanied by the church and the house from up-hill.

These buildings are dated between 1905 - 1912. The architect of this buildings ensemble is Petre Antonescu. All the edifices represent the neo-romanian architectural style, despite the reparations and the modifications made to them between 1949 and 1999. From social and economic point of view, the buildings founded by the Bratianu family represent the birth certificate of the locality. Even if this concentration of buildings in neo-romanian style is unique, both by number and by function, not even the subjective value, that of a document of Romanian civilization, have not imposed to the institutions that administrates them to mention the state of the buildings in which they reside. A plate of marble, which is on the front of the Florica villa since the 70’s, is the only confirmation of this historic reality. The text is referring only at the house from the top of the hill, villa Florica. In the exterior walls are embebed fragments of roman-greek antique architecture, timber workings (XIX’th century), the door dated 1823, furniture embebed in the interior walls and wrought hardware. In the interior of the house are five stoves made in different ages and using different techniques.

The Bratianu cultural center invites you to visit the place where Bratianu family lived and build under the motto “The law of the lineage bounds us” for nearly 2 centuries.
